Prototype Unit Shown Actual board may look different.

Are you looking to control an insect class combat robot or small RC robotics project? This motor driver is perfect for your needs. Our Budget DESC is designed to be easy to assemble and use.  It is the perfect board for entry level RC robotics projects.

Features

    • Bi-directional control of 2 DC motors @ 1.0 amps continuous, 1.5 amps max
    • Braking enabled
    • 6.5v to 12.6v voltage range
    • compact size (33mm x 21mm x 2.5 mm)
    • Lightweight at ~6 grams
    • Undervoltage, overcurrent, and overtemp protection
    • Simple calibration routine
    • Onboard 1:1 mixing option**
    • 30:1 N20 Motors pre-soldered with 3.5" Leads (if selected)*

* Color of wire may vary.

Led Lights and what they mean (Blue LED)

    • Slow blink = Waiting for signal
    • Fast blink = calibration mode
    • Solid = powered on with signal

Calibration:

    • Power on the DESC with the receiver connected.  The blue light on the DESC should be solid when connected (this can take a few seconds depending on your receiver)
    • Center all the trims on your radio
    • short the two pins on the desc marked CAL
    • The blue light should start blinking quickly
    • move each stick to min and max travel
    • return the sticks to center
    • short the CAL pin again. (the blue light should now be solid)
    • the DESC is now calibrated.

**mixing is selected by entering and exiting calibration mode (note you must do the calibration procedure each time you enter calibration mode)

      Example:
Mixing is enabled --> Enter and exit calibration mode --> Mixing Disabled
Mixing is disabled --> Enter and exit calibration mode --> Mixing Enabled

The Endbots Budget DESC has a 5 volt regulator that can be used to power other devices such as receivers, and other speed controllers. The voltage used depends on the current available.

      2s Lipo (~500mah current draw)
      3s Lipo (~250mah current draw)

If the blue light on the DESC flickers when you draw current on the 5-volt regulator, then too much current is being drawn and you either need to reduce your battery voltage or use an external BEC to power it.

Note: Most servos even small ones may draw too much current for the DESC to handle. We highly recommend getting an external BEC if you plan on using a servo.

Warning: This product can get hot enough to burn you. Take care when handling this product.
